MaryLou Smith is a wife, mother and advance practice nurse serving the women of Wilson County and beyond. MaryLou is originally from Parish, a small town in upstate New York, which helped ingrain in her the importance of being part of a community.
In 2005 MaryLou received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, where she met her husband of 7 years, Doug. After graduating from Vanderbilt University with her Masters in Nursing and Midwifery in 2006 she joined Renaissance OBGYN, a small private practice in Cortland, NY where she attended the birth of over 600 babies and provided care for women throughout their lifespan. In 2013 MaryLou and Doug moved to Nashville where they are both employed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Doug is a Senior Financial Analyst in the VUMC Department of Finance. MaryLou is an Assistant Division Director for Advance Practice Nurses in the Department of OB/Gyn.
She makes her home in Mount Juliet with her husband Doug, their 11 year old English Bull Dog Fiona, 4 year old son Cameron, and almost 1 year old daughter Amelia.
