Shawn McBrien has been practicing law since October, 1986 when he was sworn in by the Tennessee Supreme Court. Shawn is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where his father attended law school while located in Lebanon.
Upon graduating and passing the bar, Shawn began his career in Chattnooga, Tennessee. In 1987, he and his wife Karen moved to Wyoming where he passed the Wyoming bar exam and practiced five years before returning to Tennessee. On his return to Lebanon, he practiced with Hugh Green for two years, then opened his own practice. In November 2004, Shawn and Brody Kane joined their practices and formed McBrien and Kane.
Shawn has focused his 30-year career on helping his clients with wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, business development, contract law, business and commercial law & litigation, and family law. Formally trained in Family and Civil Mediation, Shawn regularly mediates family, business and commercial matters.
Shawn is a member of the 15th Judicial Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, Rotary Club of Wilson County, Gladeville Baptist Church, Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, the Middle Tennessee Amateur Retriever Club, Music City Retriever Club, and Trout Unlimited.
