Tuckers Gap Event Center was host to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Open House celebration sponsored by BankTennessee. The event was conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County, Mt. Juliet, and Rutherford County Chambers of Commerce. 
 Tuckers Gap boasts over 13,000 square feet under roof. The main hall is 5,000 square feet, capable of seating over 300 guests and includes a floor to ceiling stone, gas fireplace and five large rolling doors for the option to have an open air experience, located at 2900 Callis Road, Lebanon, TN 37090 and can be contacted at 770-906-0489.

The Cedar Tree Awards Were Established In 1983 By The Beautification Committee Of The Chamber Of Commerce To Encourage And Recognize Property Owners Or Leaseholders Who Excel In Preserving Or Improving The Physical Environment Of Wilson County. Those recognized for 2017 are:

1.            The Best new professional or commercial building, completed this year: Tennessee Orthopedics

2.            The Best structure converted to a commercial use or significant structural addition or  restoration of a commercial or professional building completed this year: Cumberland Animal Hospital

3.            The Best improvement of land usage to enhance the areas aesthetic or quality of life completed this year:  The Wilson County Exposition Center

Special Awards were presented to Dr. Jim Newman for newly renovated offices at  Newman Dental & Associates and Bates Ford for their newly Renovated showroom and service department.

Special Recognition were given to First United Methodist Church for their Columbarium and Memorial Garden. A visible sign of the church caring for it’s members from birth until eternal life.

Julie Wilson and Heather at Body Kneads, Etc. were recognized for  winning the Rising Star Award.  Body Kneads has been a proud member of the Lebanon Wilson Chamber since 2010. The Rising Star award is given annually by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center to the company that best exemplifies not only business success, but an outstanding working relationship with the TSBDC and use of the services it provides.

Wilson County Exposition Center hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce on January 20 at 4:00 p.m.

Charity Toombs was joined by Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto, Lebanon Mayor Bernie Ash, Watertown Mayor Mike Jennings, Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce President Melanie Minter, Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Vice President Andrea Wilke, and Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.

New Leash On Life's Joy Clinic Groundbreaking Ceremony

New Leash On Life held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for its new spay/neuter clinic, conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, on Friday, September 23. The new 2,500-square-foot Joy Clinic will be next to the existing New Leash on Life facility on Jim Draper Boulevard and offer spay and neuter services to more than 100 animals per week, said Executive Director Angela Chapman.
New Leash on Life currently operates a mobile spay/neuter clinic and sees approximately 20 to 40 animals a week.

Industry Appreciation Day 2016

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee held their annual Industry Appreciation Day on September 15, recognizing LoJac Inc., and their commitment and service to the community. Chamber Chair-Elect Jud Nave opened ceremonies by welcoming LoJac executives and employees, local dignitaries, and Chamber members and staff.


LoJac Inc. was founded in 1983 by B.F. (Jack) Lowery and Donald G. Chambers. LoJac Inc. provides high-quality services and materials to the construction industry throughout the Southeast. Some of their services include grading, production and placement of asphalt pavement, sign fabrication and installation, and concrete paving and rehabilitation. They also produce and supply a wide range of high-quality masonry products such as block, brick, stone and sand. LoJac has been involved in many unique projects, including shopping centers, airport runways, and major private projects.


Members of the Economic Development Committee got the opportunity to talk to the executive staff about the business and its history while employees enjoyed lunch from Honeybaked Ham Co. The Chamber would like to extend a special thank you to CedarStone Bank for sponsoring the event held at LoJac Materials located at 1401 Toshiba Drive, Lebanon.

Maplehurst Bakeries Ribbon Cutting

Maplehurst Bakeries held a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening August 31, 2016 for its Lebanon facility. Plant manager, Mike Jones, said the facility currently employs 95 people and that most of those employees are Wilson County residents.

Maplehurst Bakeries produces frozen bakery products for in-store and food-service bakeries. The new location features warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operations and services customers across North America.

Wilson County Promotions Honors Old Timers at Business Before Hours

Wilson County Promotions and the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Business Before Hours in Fiddlers Grove on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Wilson County Fair officials presented their annual Old Timers Award to this year's recipients, Dan and Vondie Smith.

The Smiths have been married for 54 years. They were both raised on family farms. Dan works his 360-acre farm raising beef cattle. They agree the life of a farmer can be tough but also very rewarding.

Together they have accumulated 213 years of serving on various community boards. Some of those are Agriculture Farmers Conservation, Middle Tennessee Electric Coop. Young Farmers & Homemakers, Wilson County Livestock Association and many more.

Vondie has served on numerous bank boards. She began her banking career at Commerce Union Bank and working in banking for 54 years. She was a financial adviser to many people. She is also known for helping people pay their bills when they needed a helping hand.

Dan was a charter member of the Farmers Coop. He was serving on the Board when land was purchased for a new building. They built the fertilizer plant first. When they had sold enough stock, they built the building.

Dan and Vondie have served the people pf the community to make it a better place to work and live. Dan said, “He has been as nice to people as he knows how in everything he has done and hopes he has made a difference for the people he has served.”

 In addition to having their names added to a plaque that will remain at the fairgrounds, Old Timers award recipients are presented with rocking chairs courtesy of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.

Vision Realty Partners, LLC, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.

Owner and managing broker Tod Southworth and wife Betty were joined by friends, Vision Realty Partners Realtors, State Representative Mark Pody, Mayor Philip Craighead, Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board Scott Jasper, Chamber of Commerce President Melanie Minter, Chamber Ambassadors and Staff.

Next Step Resource Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Next Step Resource Center held a ribbon cutting on July 22, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. Located at 100 Mabry Court, the 4,800 square foot facility will serve an estimated 20 to 30 people per day from 19 counties. Among other services, the center provides clothing, housing, transportation and job and life-skill training to those in need.

Cook’s Pest Control celebrated the opening of the company’s new Lebanon, TN office at 1215 South Hartmann Drive. The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 9,159 square-foot facility on July 8.

Brian Cook, Chief Administration Officer, Jo Cook, and Joel Kendzierski, district manager of Cook's Nashville Northeast, were joined by representatives of Cook’s Pest Control, friends, State Representative Mark Pody, Mayor Philip Craighead, Chamber Chairman of the Board, Scott Jasper, Chamber President, Melanie Minter, Chamber staff and Ambassadors.

“We are very excited to move into our new location,” said Joel Kendzierski. “Cook’s Pest Control has been growing steadily in the Nashville area, and this new facility will give us the opportunity to have a more prominent presence in the area and to better serve our customers. Chamber Awards $10,000 in Scholarships at Tennessee Scholars Graduation

The 2016 Tennessee Scholars Ceremony was held on May 5th at Cumberland University. Tennessee Scholars is a joint effort by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce and the business community of Wilson County to encourage students to take a rigorous course of study.

The ceremony brings Wilson County High Schools together, public and private. This year, there were 431 graduates from Friendship Christian School, Heritage Christian Academy, Lebanon High School, McClain Christian, Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, Mt. Juliet High School, Watertown High School, and Wilson Central High School.

Scholarships were provided by the Chamber's Education Division, Genesco, the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce, Old Hickory Credit Union, an anonymous donor, Wilson Bank and Trust, Manheim, Gladeville Market and Grille, Trinity, Walid Assal, Joe and Delora Holp, Tracy Pointer of Grow, and SKS Enterprises.

Scholarship winners for this year were: Chandler Bastin of Friendship Christian, Honah Bean of Lebanon High School, Michele Bean of Lebanon High School, JC McDearman of Lebanon High School, Thomas Oakely of Lebanon High School, Meghan Branham of Mt. Juliet High School, Emma Brown of Mt. Juliet High School, Jordan Burgess of Mt. Juliet High School, Anna Cheatham of Mt. Juliet High School, Preston Clark of Mt. Juliet High School, Kristen Hammer of Mt. Juliet High School, Justin Dillard of Wilson Central High School, Sarah Hamilton of Wilson Central High School, Chelsea Horton of Wilson Central High School, Asia Pace of Wilson Central High School, Makayla Ruckman of Wilson Central High School, Kayla Varner of Wilson Central High School and Valentina Yang of Wilson Central High School.

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Cumberland University, Gardens on Main, County Mayor Randall Hutto, the guest speaker for the event, all School Principals, Ruth Woodall and the sponsors who made it possible for the Chamber to award $10,000 in scholarships! On Thursday, April 7, 2016, Tennova Medical Group in Lebanon hosted a Business After Hours conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.

Guests were treated to engaging conversations with Dr. Alpesh Patel, Dr. Jocelyne Miller, Dr. Fathi Ali and Dr. Darron Lewis and a delightful dinner catered by the Tennova cafeteria. Tours of suites 101 and 104 were also available.

First Freedom Business After Hours

On Tuesday, March 29, 2016, First Freedom Bank hosted a Business After Hours conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce. The agenda included celebrating their tenth anniversary and honoring Ken Howell. 


Howell was one of the original founders of First Freedom Bank, with more than forty years of banking experience. He was awarded the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Member #23 in 1999; he served as Board Chairman in 1995 and began the Chamber’s Business & Education Coalition to support educational grants and scholarships in Wilson County for both students and teachers.

2016 Chamber Awards Winners

The 2016 Membership Meeting and Awards Celebration took place at The Mill at Lebanon on the evening of February 9. The format of the night was different than years past, beginning with a more intimate awards ceremony prior to the larger banquet. The celebration concluded in true party style, with the Blues Brokers performing live music for the last hour of the night.
