Lebanon’s Tis The Season Weekend Extravangza

It's almost that time of year again! As the weather gets colder, we are gearing up for a holiday weekend full of fun and festivities!

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce will partner with the City of Lebanon to host this Free Community Event. This three day event is scheduled to take place December 3-5, 2021.

The holiday weekend activities include activities the entire family will enjoy Tree Lighting by Mayor Rick Bell, First United Methodist Church, music by Wade Hayes, Janelle Arthur and the C-Dock Boyz, Ice Skating Rink, Food Trucks, Imagine That Art! Nativity Scene, Letters & Photos with Santa, Carriage Rides and Agricultural Learning Center, Square Merchant specialty items and promotions will be available for your Shopping & Dining pleasure and a Capitol Theatre Movie “Home Alone”. This one weekend extravaganza on the Downtown Historic Lebanon Square you do not want to miss!

Jingle Jog

The Wilson County Sports Council will sponsor the “Jingle Jog” a 5K Fun Run preceding the Christmas Parade on December 5th.  Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Wilson County Courthouse.

The fun run event will start at 1:15 p.m., beginning at the courthouse parking lot to East Main Street to the Lebanon Public Square traveling West Main Street to D.T. McCall & Sons, runners will turn around there, traveling back West Main Street, and ending at the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce office.

Runners are encouraged to park at the Wilson County Courthouse parking lot.

Participants can register in advance at the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce office or www.active.com or day of fun run in the designated tent at the starting line.

Registration fee is $30.00 Adults and children 12 & under $15.00, includes a t-shirt, Santa hat and bells.

Lebanon Christmas Parade

The Lebanon Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, December 5th beginning at 2 p.m. This year’s parade theme is “Jingle All The Way”. Susie James, Owner of WANT FM 98.9 / WCOR AM 1490 will serve as Grand Marshal, Sponsored by Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. The parade will begin at Wilson County Schools, located at 415 Harding Drive, Lebanon, TN. 37087, will travel down Harding Drive, and will end at the D.T. McCall & Sons. Applications for parade entries are available on the Chamber of Commerce website or at the Chamber office.

Halloween on the Square

Halloween off the Square 1
 
The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce will once again partner with the City of Lebanon, TN - Government and First Baptist Church Lebanon, TN to present Halloween on the Square on Sunday October 31st from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on the Lebanon Downtown Historic Square. As always, there will be plenty of candy for everyone, as well as free hotdogs, grilling courtesy of Public Safety!
 
TIMELINE:
2:00-3:15 Contest sign up
3:15-3:30 Contestants line up by age group in Cabin quadrant
3:30 Contest begins
Each age group will walk around the Square 3-4 times by age group only
Entries may be pulled aside to be entered as finalists
3:50-4:00 Ghoul parade
All age groups walk around Square together in a Ghoul Parade while judges finalize winners. Costume judging
will be during the ghoul parade.
4:00-4:15 Winners announced
 
RULES:
Anyone, any age, is allowed to enter the contest.
Contestants will be split into 4 categories: Ages Birth-5, 6-12, 13+ and groups.
Entries need to remain present throughout the contest to be eligible to receive an award.
By registering, entrants agree to allow event sponsors to use their image for promotion purposes, both photographs and video.
 
PRIZES:
Each category will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each group. The overall best costume will be named “Ghoul of the Night” and receive $100.00 sponsored by Amy Hamilton- Hamilton Homes Group
Stage, music, and Costume Contest presented by HAWK Specialty Services.

COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing

The Tennessee Department of Health will offer drive-thru COVID-19 testing in various locations throughout Tennessee this weekend. If you have health concerns, or have concerns about the health of a family member, you are invited to receive testing for COVID-19. The Wilson County Health Department will have FREE drive-thru testing tomorrow, April 18th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

The Wilson County Health Department is located at 927 East Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN 37087.

Drive-thru testing will be held at other locations on April 19th. Aviation Way Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Lebanon held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Aviation Way, sponsored by BankTennessee conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce on July 23rd at 11:00 a.m.

City of Lebanon Mayor Bernie Ash welcomed and thanked those in attendance as well as the individuals that helped the road’s development. Mayor Ash was joined by many members of the community along with Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board J.B. Owens, Chamber President Melanie Minter and Ambassadors and Staff.

Aviation Way in a new road that connects the Lebanon Municipal Airport with South Hartmann Drive. The road is located next to Wilson County Motors.

Ali Rahimi and Kent Miller were joined My Place employees, Senator Mark Pody, City of Lebanon Mayor Bernie Ash, along with Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board J.B. Owens, and Chamber Vice President Andrea Wilke, and Chamber Members and Ambassadors.

The Lebanon location is the first My Place hotel in Tennessee.

Lebanon Senior Citizens Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Lebanon Senior Citizens Center held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce sponsored by BankTennessee on Wednesday December 6th at 2:30 pm. The new addition will be a major improvment of operations at the Senior Center. They are located at 670 Coles Ferry Pike.
