Here's the latest buzz in Wilson County! The Bee Well Urgent Care Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place this morning. Located at 6650 Eastgate Blvd Suite 104 in Lebanon, Bee Well Urgent Care accepts patients 18 months and older! They also offer IV hydration and injection bar.
 
Bee Well Urgent Care employees were present, along with President & CEO Melanie Minter and Chamber Ambassadors.

The Preserve at Belle Point Ribbon Cutting

A Ribbon Cutting was held yesterday at Goodall Homes, The Preserve at Belle Point. Located just minutes from downtown on Cairo Bend Rd. in Lebanon. The Preserve offers an Amenity Center with resort-style clubhouse, pool, fitness center and covered patios. Swim, play disc golf with friends, or enjoy the nearby walking trails. Present were Goodall Homes representatives, Chairman of the Board Curt Baker, President & CEO Melanie Minter and Chamber representatives including Ambassadors. LHS Tennessee Scholars

The Tennessee Scholars Ceremonies began this morning at Lebanon High School. Tennessee Scholars, which was started in 2005, is a joint effort by the Chamber of Commerce and the business community of Wilson County, aimed to encourage Wilson County students to take more rigorous courses of study during their years in school.
 
This year, there was a total of 305 graduates amongst the 7 high schools, Friendship Christian School, Heritage Christian Academy, Lebanon High School, Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, Mt. Juliet High School, Watertown High School, and Wilson Central High School.
The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Genesco for their continued sponsorship for the Chamber’s education programs, our Education Division, city & county Mayors and all School Principals for the roles that they played in such supporting education.

The Virginia Adams Thackston Reading Room

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held Saturday, March 26th to officially open the new Reading Room at the Lebanon-Wilson County Library. The Virginia Adams Thackston Reading Room was made possible by a gift from the Thackston Family Foundation. Mrs. Thackston was a user and supporter of the Library for over 50 years. She enjoyed going to the Library from the time it was located upstairs in a house on College Street to its present location on Main. Mr. Ed Thackston spoke fondly of the time he checked out books with his brother, Carlton and sister, Gemma when they were young children.

Wilson County Mayoral Candidate Forum

Join us and support your candidates as incumbent, Randall Hutto and Phillip Warren take the stage at a political mayoral forum. Each candidate will have an opportunity to make an opening statement and a closing statement. Each of these statements will be limited to 3- 4 minutes. The order of speaking will be determined by a flip of the coin.
 
Following the opening statements, each candidate will be asked the same question and given time to respond.
Time limit to be determined. Candidates will alternate on who responds first.
 
Candidates will not ask questions of each other.
 
Questions will cover a variety of topics including but not limited to: County growth, quality of life, taxation, economic development, workforce development, education, recreation, etc.

Last Friday we celebrated Jack's Guitarcheology Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

Jack's Guitarcheology started out in a spare bedroom in a 900 sq. foot house. Now, Jack has a dedicated 650 sq. foot shop located on his acre property just for his Guitarcheological work. Jack remains active in the Nashville and Murfreesboro music scenes. He currently plays bass in These Heathens (Uncle Skunkle)Toxic Culture and Big, if True.  He also plays guitar and sings in his band, Casual Sects, and is on the planning committee for Boro Fondo Festival, a non-profit music festival in Middle Tennessee. Be sure to stop by and see all the amazing guitars he has in the store!!!

Owner,Connie Kondrat and her husband moved to Lebanon a few months ago and fell in love with the small town feel.  When they came across two buildings for sale in the Historical part of Lebanon they had a vision of putting in a Winery.  The property came with an old house; so with love of antiques and art work they decided to make it an antique store. Spying for his country was the furthest thing from his mind when Olson, a farm boy from Iowa, received a mysterious phone call that changed his life forever. In his presentation, Olson takes you inside the real world of being a CIA spy. He describes the rigorous training they receive and the difficult dilemmas that they face in the field on a daily basis. Olson explains how the global war on terror affects everyone and that the country needs to know that the United States will be hit again within its borders.

Congratulations! The Wilson County Election Commission hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on December 16th to celebrate their new location. The ceremony was to showcase the new complex of Wilson County.

Attendees included special guest speakers Secretary of State Tre Hargett, TN Election Coordinator Mark Goins and Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto.
